ROSE MARIE DICKSON Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Rose Marie Dickson will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 27 at the Cortez First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Rose Marie was born March 15, 1931 in Chandler, Okla. the daughter of Clay Franklin and Juanita Dortha (Jackson) Watson. She passed away at her home on Friday, March 21, 2014 at the age of 83. On June 30, 1951 in Chandler, Okla., Rose Marie married John Henry Dickson and to this union three children were born. Rose Marie was very involved in different organizations including PEO, Rainbow for Girls and Bridge Club. She loved to cook, ski, and play Bridge. Time spent with her family though is what brought Rose Marie the most enjoyment. Surviving Rose Marie are her husband of 62 years, Dr. John Dickson of Cortez; her son, Mark Dickson of Durango; grandchildren, Michelle and Kenny Clifton and their children, Tagean and Kealen, Kevin Dickson, and Kayla and Sam Leganza and their child, Damien; her daughter, Cynthia and Tom Browning of Flagstaff, Ariz.; grandchildren, Barrett and Jessie Browning and their children, Dylan, Natalee Rose, and Katelyn Marie, Blake Browning, and Britten Browning; her son, Clay and Cindy Dickson of Cortez; grandchildren, Brandon Dickson, and Ashlee and Tyler Monarco and their child, Lucas.
