Ronald Brent 'Ronnie' Howell

Ronald Brent Howell was born in Cortez, Colorado on July 14, 1952, and was 68 years old upon his tragic death on March 29, 2021. Ron was the son of Robert Bert Howell and Norma Jean Howell (Ives). He was better known as “Ronnie” by most of his friends and acquaintances.
Ron graduated from MCHS in 1970. He began his career in parts sales at B & K Auto, Cortez Diesel Sales and Caun-Co, Inc. in Cortez. At the time of his death he was employed by Four Corners Building Materials in Farmington, NM. Ron was an avid sportsman and enjoyed his time outdoors. If he wasn’t hunting or fishing, he could be found at one of his favorite places, Lake Powell. He was also a volunteer fireman at the Cortez Volunteer Fire Department for over 40 years.
Ron is survived by his companion, Renee Johnson of Cortez, CO; his son, Brent Howell, (Ely and Kellan) of Grand Junction, CO; his daughter, Sara Barnes, (Israel, Nico and Mason) (Tommy) of Grand Junction, CO; his brothers, Kevin K. Howell of Denver, Harlon Howell (Patsy) of Cortez, CO, and Roy Howell (Mary Linden) of Cheyenne, WY. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jennifer; his parents; and his sister, Brenda Miller.
Ron’s death was unexpected and he will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, and friends.
