Rollo Hiram "Bud" Meeks

ROLLO HIRAM "BUD" MEEKS Rollo Hiram "Bud" Meeks was born the son of Alfred J. and Nellie (Lutkiewicz) Meeks on April 17, 1926 in Meeker, Colo. He passed away at his Cortez home on Monday, October 21, 2013 at the age of 87. Bud married Betty Joanne Bryant on September 20, 1947 in Grand Junction, Colo. They just celebrated 66 years of marriage. He served his country in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific on a battleship. Bud enjoyed working on his ranch with his beloved horse, Bash. When the weather turned cold though, it was in Arizona that you would find him enjoying some warmth for the winter. Bud loved spending time outdoors whether it was in the mountains or waterskiing at Lake Powell. Surviving Bud are his wife, Joanne Meeks of Cortez; children, Janice Vaughn and husband, Jim of Questa, N.M., Jack Meeks and wife, Aleta of Soldotna, Alaska, and Nedra Wilson and husband, Jim of Cortez; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and sisters, Nellie Mae Nolen of Oklahoma and Fay Roberts of Grand Junction, Colo. Preceding him in death are his parents, Alfred and Nellie Meeks; two brothers and two sisters. Cremation has taken place and private family services will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Guardian Angels or Hospice of Montezuma.
