ROBERT WARNER Robert Warner passed away at home on Sunday, February 26, 2012. He was born April 4, 1936 at Redvale, Colo. to Ted and Mae Warner. Robert served four years active and four years inactive in the U.S. Navy from 1954 to 1962. After his service time he went to Durango where he started his job with the Division of Wildlife where he worked for 30 years before retiring. On November 3, 1961 he married Neta Grimmett; they spent five years in Durango, then he transferred to Dolores for five years, then to Montrose for the next 20 years. After retirement they spent 15 winters in Bouse, Ariz. until his illness. They moved to Cortez in 2000. Surviving Robert are his wife, Neta of Cortez; two sons, Ben and wife, Liz of Cortez and Rod and wife, Heidi of Montrose, Colo.; four grandsons, Benjamin and wife, Crystal of Cortez, Matt and Casey both of Cortez and Dusty and wife, Brittany also of Cortez; two granddaughters, Ashley Warner of Montrose, Colo. and Stephanie Schaffer of Delta, Colo.; three great grandsons and one great granddaughter; one step great granddaughter; a sister, Dorothy Hill of Grand Junction; and many nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Richard and David; and sister, Margarie. Robert requested no services. Cremation will take place and his cremated remains will be place in the Olathe Cemetery in Olathe, Colo. Memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Montezuma, PO Box 740, Cortez, Colo. 81321.
