ROBERT M. 'BOBBY' MYERS Services for lifelong Cortez resident, Robert M. 'Bobby' Myers will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 23 at the Arriola Community Center. Reverend Bud Rousset will officiate. Interment is to follow at the Arriola Cemetery. Bobby was born on May 28, 1962 in Longmont, Colo. to Robert Berton and Shirley (Bertron) Myers. He passed away Friday, June 18, 2004 at his home in Cortez at the age of 42. Truly an outdoorsman, Bobby loved fishing, camping and trail horseback riding. He also drew great enjoyment watching his daughter competing in rodeo events. Bobby was a heavy equipment mechanic, working at different times for Nielsons Construction, Weeminuche Construction, and Mountain Gravel and Construction. Surviving Bobby are his children, Robby Myers and wife, Julie, Travis Myers, and Katie Myers all of Cortez; his granddaughter, Emalie Myers of Cortez, and his parents, Bob and Shirley Myers also of Cortez. Two sisters, Catherine Kennedy and husband, Gary of Mancos, and their daughters, Grace, Amanda and Cassandra, and Yvonne Alves and husband, John of Monte Vista, and their daughter, Shannon; and special friend, Linda Tate and children of Dolores also survive Bobby. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Robert M. “Bobby” Myers with Hospice of Montezuma, 1345 S. Broadway, Cortez.
