It was here that the couple ranched, running cattle in the beautiful Stoner Valley. He loved playing golf, rides in the mountains, and most especially, time spent with his grandchildren. One of Bob’s favorite sayings was “Push it, Pull it or Plow it!” He held memberships in Elks Lodge #1789, the Masons, Shriners and the American Legion. Surviving Bob are his wife of 57 years, Asalea Wright of Cortez; and his children, Bob Wright and wife, Sherri of Cortez, Boss Wright and wife, Tammy of Cortez, and Lisa Wright of Sarasota, Fla. Five grandchildren, Kelly Wright, Robby Wright, Leah Allen, Jeff Wright and Randy Wright; five great grandchildren; a brother, Joe Wright and wife, Kathleen of Farmington, N.M.; and a stepsister, Delsa Brown of Mancos also survive Bob. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Hollis Wright in 1949. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Robert “Bob” Wright Sr. at the Citizens State Bank of Cortez.
