ROBERT LEE "BOBBY" WRIGHT Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Robert Lee "Bobby" Wright will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 14 at Lighthouse Baptist Church. Private interment will follow the funeral service. Pastor Andrew Reed will officiate. Bobby was born on November 1, 1948 in Andrews, Tex. the son of Robert Lee Wright Sr. and Asalea V. (McBee) Wright. He passed away on Friday, December 11, 2009 at his residence at the age of 61. On September 9, 1974, Bobby married Sherri M. Sanchez in Santa Fe, N.M. He was a devoted member of Lighthouse Baptist Church. During his life, Bobby owned multiple oil field and construction companies. He was very thankful of God's beauty, the surrounding mountains, blue skies, and the stars at night. Bobby loved time spent on his ranch. Knowing that he would wake up each day to a cup of coffee, scripture from the bible, and all of this shared with his wife, brought his life much joy. Surviving Bobby are his wife, Sherri Wright of Cortez; his mother, Asalea Wright of Cortez; and his children, Kelly C. Wright of Grand Junction, Colo., Robert Lee Wright III and wife, Amber of Cortez, Leah Ann Allen of Cortez, and Jeffery Steven Wright of Colorado Springs, Colo. Bobby also leaves behind his grandchildren, Olivia Wright, Aryelle Wright, Avery Wright, Kyra Allen, and Taegen Allen; and his siblings, Lisa Wright of Durango, and Boss Wright of Cortez. Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Wright Sr. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted by the University of Colorado Cancer Center for cancer research.
