ROBERT ELTON PULLEN Robert Elton Pullen was born May 16, 1935 in San Pedro, Calif. the son of William Arthur and Leilani (Kailihala) Pullen. He passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 77. Robert enlisted with the United States Navy in 1952. He served his country until he was honorably discharged in 1956. Robert was one of three engineers that designed the F-16. He was also head of the Atlas Missile Program. Robert was a member of Elks and the Old Antarctic Explorers Association. In his free time, Robert enjoyed sailing, traveling, and reading the Wall Street Journal. Robert's cat, Samantha, held a special place in his heart. Surviving Robert are his children, Sandy Follett and husband, Dave of California, Sheryl Gallegos of Colorado, and Shari Amorelli of Colorado; and his former wife, Sharon Reed of Colorado. Robert also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Michael Kelsey of Alabama, Bryce Kelsey of Nevada, Marriah Gallegos of Colorado, Shylo Gallegos of Colorado, Joseph Amorelli of Alaska, Catrinna Amorelli of Maine, Gabriella Amorelli of Colorado, and Samuel Follet of California; four great-grandchildren, Haydren of Nevada, and Andrew, Austin, and Cloe of Alabama; and his brother, Gene Pullen. Robert was preceded in death by his parents; by an infant child; and by his siblings, Arthur Pullen, Leilani Sehiesler, and Artley Campbell. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in Robert Pullen's name to the Mancos Senior Center.
