ROBERT CLIFFORD "BOB" CONNER Funeral services for Robert Clifford "Bob" Conner will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 27 at First Baptist Church in Cortez. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Bob was born June 15, 1935 in Durango, Colo. to Robert Simpson Conner Jr. and Iva Irene (Maness) Conner. He passed away at his Dolores home on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at the age of 81. On November 17, 1952 Bob married Alma Pauline Howe in Tierra Amarillo, N.M. Bob was retired from the Cortez Police Department after serving the force for 27 years. He enjoyed hunting fishing and ranching. Surviving Bob are his wife of 64 years, Pauline Conner of Dolores; his children, Warren Jay Conner (Tara) of Dolores, Bill Conner (Stacie) of Dolores, Terrie Williams (Dan) of Dolores, and Robert H. Conner (Kathy) of Cortez; daughter-in-law, Michelle Conner of Texas; foster children, Dennis Whiteman and Emma Shipley of New Mexico; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Gross (Dave) of Kansas and Iva Stewart of New Mexico; and his brother-in-law, Larry Rice of Olathe, Colo. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Richard Lee Conner; and his siblings, Albert Conner and Myrna Rice.
