ROBERT CARLOS SHUTT Funeral services for lifelong area resident Robert Shutt will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 9 at Dove Creek Cemetery. Robert was the son of Leone and Irma (Carpenter) Shutt, born January 11, 1928 in Craig, Colo. After a brief illness Robert passed away at Vista Grande Inn, Cortez, Colo. at the age of 85 on July 4, 2013. Robert served his country in the U.S. Army. Robert worked for several years in the uranium mill in Monticello, Utah. He then worked for and retired after 35 years from Dolores County Roads and Bridges. He loved running his John Deer tractors, and enjoyed long walks across the family ranch. Surviving Robert are his wife, Evelyn Shutt, married 63 years ago at Northdale, Colo. on March 28, 1950; his son, Emil Shutt and his wife, Sherry of Dove Creek, Colo.; daughter, Ann Berry and her husband, J.R. Berry of Cortez, Colo.; and son, Donald Shutt and wife, Diane of Lewis, Colo. Seven grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren also survive Robert. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Ivan Shutt.
