Robert Carl Hess

ROBERT CARL HESS Robert Carl Hess was born December 19, 1942 in Denver, Colo. the son of Elmer Carl and Virginia (Vance) Hess. He passed away at his home in Cortez on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 at the age of 65. A Vietnam veteran, Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He spent his career working as an engineer in the aerospace industry, later working as a Deputy Sheriff and as court security. Bob was a member of Colorado Elk Foundation, Trout Unlimited, National Rifle Association, and American Legion. In his free time Bob enjoyed fly fishing and wood working. Surviving Bob are his wife, Mary Ellen (Gross) Spiegel Hess; his children, Jennie Lundberg and husband, Mike of Mira Loma, Calif., Justin Spiegel and wife, Nicole of Cortez, David Spiegel of Cortez, and Frank Spiegel and wife, Severiana of Lakewood, Calif.; five grandchildren, Ashley and Allyson Lundberg, Hali Emma Spiegel, and Matthew and Chloi Spiegel; and his brother, Donald Hess of Portland, Ore.
