Rickey “Rick” Lee Herrington, 77, of Cortez, Colorado, passed away on January 19, 2025. Born on June 16, 1947, in Stockton, California, he was a devoted husband and father.

Proceeded in death by Rick's beloved father, Roscoe Preston Herrington, mother, Frona Katherine Herrington, sister, Linda Jean Carrico, brother, Gary Wayne Herrington, his horse, Bud, and his dogs, Riley, Gabe, and Jo-Jo.

Rick is greatly loved and missed by his wife, Rita Herrington of Cortez, CO, his son, Rickey Herrington, Jr and wife Valerie of Frisco, TX, his daughter Pamela Mosier and husband Ricky of Waurika, OK, his grandsons Aaron Mosier and wife Megan of Ada, OK, and Bryce Herrington of Frisco, TX, his step children Erik Berner of Phoenix, AZ, Ryan Berner and wife Amanda of Phoenix, AZ, and step grandchildren, Bryan Berner of Phoenix, AZ, and Devin Berner of Phoenix, AZ, as well as many friends who will miss him dearly.

Rick is a veteran who served in the Navy.

Rick was hard-working and dedicated. He spent 35 years working as a diesel mechanic, truck driver, and wrecker service & recovery business owner, where he was known for his ability to get the job done no matter what. He also operated a small cattle company over the years that brought him great joy. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his passions.

Rick's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed riding his Harley, trail riding on his four-wheeler, camping, and hunting, but he received the most joy from his time riding horses.

We find comfort in knowing that Rick's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.
