Richard Snowden 'Dick' Fahnestock

A Celebration of Life for Dolores resident Richard S. ‘Dick’ Fahnestock will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2020 at the Elks Lodge in Cortez, CO.

Dick was born December 13, 1937, in New York City. He passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2020 at his home in Dolores, CO. He was raised in Oyster Bay, Long Island and lived most of his adult life in Connecticut and New Jersey, and finally relocating with his wife to her home state of Colorado in 1994.

Dick served in the United States Marine Corp for two years. After the Marine Corp he attended Tulane University. Dick was in sales most of his life working for companies such as Time Magazine, Bunker Ramo, and Wall Street Concepts. He also owned a used car dealership in Connecticut. Lastly, he was the Chairman of Iberia Investment Corporation. Dick enjoyed the outdoors taking part in bird hunting, trap and skeet shooting, sporting clays, and riding horses. He was also involved in sport car racing in the 1960’s.

Dick was preceded in death by his father, Bertron; his mother, Valerie, and his brother, Tony (Anthony). He is survived by his wife, Denise; his three daughters, Meg Fiore (Dan), Fiona Roth (David), and Samantha Cleves (Gene); and nine grandchildren.
