Richard Loftin took his final journey October 11, 2024 to join the many, that he has loved and lost. He was born June 4, 1933 in Berryville, Arkansas to parents John Henry and Anna Bell, both deceased. Richard was one of twelve children, all of whom have predeceased him. He was a quiet, gentle man who loved to dance, fish, hunt and cook.
He never cared for the hot climate of the main land and quickly migrated to the Northern Slopes of Alaska. He loved to tell stories of his time spent there with his son, Jerry. Later he settled in Cortez, Colorado where he lived out the remainder of his life.
He served time in the Koren War and was awarded the Siver Star for his actions of valor when, single handily, he volunteered to take out a North Korean artillery placement. His superior quoted it as “an extraordinary feat of bravery.”
Richard leaves behind his companion, dance partner and partner in life for 32 years, Aline Sanchez. He also had three children. Jerry Dale, deceased (wife, Cindy), Regina Inez (husband, Robert, deceased) and Sandra Sue (husband, Charley).
