RICHARD DENNIS STANFIELD A celebration of life ice cream social will be held for Dolores resident Richard Dennis Stanfield at 4 p.m. on Friday, July 3 at the Stanfield residence. Richard was born October 7, 1943 in Calexico, Calif. the son of Allen Richard and Hester Lorianne (Daley) Stanfield. He passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 65. On May 21, 1966, Richard married Patricia Marlene Wade in Las Vegas, Nev. In 1965, Richard joined the Iron Workers #416 of Los Angeles, the group was better known as the "Rod Busters." Work was an important part of Richard's life. A friend to everyone, Richard took great pride in woodworking and remodeling. Richard was a visionary who found ways in his life to be constructive and creative. Surviving Richard are his wife of 43 years, Patricia M. Stanfield of Dolores; and his children, Kenneth Stanfield and Stephanie Welsh of Chino, Calif., and Kimberly (Stanfield) Pugh and husband, Brian of Villa Park, Calif. Richard also leaves behind his grandchildren, Johnathon Stanfield, Dominique Pugh, and Brittney Welsh; his children from a previous marriage, Richard Dennis Stanfield Jr. of Fontana, Calif., and Karl L. Stanfield and wife, Stacey of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.; two grandchildren, Ruth and Alex Stanfield; and his sister, Dorothy Mulcahy of Overgaard, Ariz. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Richard's family has requested that a tree be planted in Richard's memory or memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
