Richard Alex Fedishen

Graveside services for Cortez resident Richard Alex Fedishen will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Lewis Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Ertel Memorial Chapel.
Richard was born June 29, 1956 in Boonton, New Jersey the son of William Basil and Janet (Snelling) Fedishen. He passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at his residence at the age of 62.
Richard was born and raised in New Jersey where he enjoyed working for Marriott Corp as a dishwasher. After moving to Cortez, he worked cleaning the city parks. He also enjoyed working as a volunteer at Goodwill and Meals on Wheels. He was also active in Community Connections and the Special Olympics. Richard loved horses and is well known among his friends and family for his artwork.
Surviving Richard are his siblings, James Fedishen of Dolores, CO, Michael Fedishen of Eagle, CO, and Karen Harris (Richard) of Lewis, CO; and his host family brothers, Larry Sparks and Derrick Melgosa of Cortez, CO. Richard was preceded in death by his parents.
