RAYMOND PARKER LANG Funeral services for lifelong Towaoc resident Raymond Parker Lang will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 3 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation has been set for Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Raymond was born the son of Alfred Parker Lang and Helen (Eyetoo) Wells Lang on June 19, 1937 in Towaoc, Colo. He passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the age of 72. A graduate of Roswell High School in Roswell, N.M., Ray went on to graduate from the BIA Police Academy in Roswell. He worked for the Ute Mountain Tribal Police until his retirement and then he went on to work as security at the Ute Mountain Tribal Office. Ray was a member of The Chapel and spent much time reading his Bible. A lover of the outdoors, Ray enjoyed traveling, camping, horseback riding, and nature walks. Ray also liked to read the Bible and spend time with his cattle. Ray loved junk food, some of his favorite places to eat were Burger Boy, Picadilly and Denny’s. Surviving Raymond are his siblings, David L. Wells, Rose M. Wells, Fern L. Jacket, all of Towaoc, Calvin Wells of White Mesa, Utah, and Arthur Lang of Towaoc. Ray is survived by a large extended family including, Walter Bryant, Rechanda Bryant, David S. Wells, Raenda Wells, Arsenio Paytiamo, Candida Paytiamo, Navar Paytiamo, Erica Downey, Dante Downey, Pat Downey, Henry Jacket Jr. and Clarice, Alise Jaron, Henry Jacket III, Austin Jacket and Tiger Edmenson, Waun Jacket, Everisto, Maurice, Madeline Jacket, Lynda and Larrison Yazzie, Dell, Aliyah, Layla Jacket, LaDonna and Everett King, Stuart, Tonya, Bryan, Gracey and Evan King, Rita and Mark Wing, Steven Pensoneau, Dixie Hostostivit, Arlie, Raven, Arden Wells, Monica, Shawna, and Sean Peabody, Parla, LaDawn and Kelsey Clark, Gary, Ricky, and Rocky Hayes, and Michael Elkriver. Ray was preceded in death by his parents; by his brother, Parley Wells; and by his nephew, Vincent Jackson.
