Raymond David 'Ray' Yoder

June 6, 1930 — January 27, 2022

Raymond David ‘Ray’ Yoder was born on June 6, 1930 to John and Salome Yoder in Bellville, PA. He grew up in Bellville with his four brothers, Manny, John, Steve and Ike, and two sisters, Mary and Ruth. Ray joined the Army in 1948 and spent most of his enlisted time stationed in Ansbach, Germany.
Ray married Thelma Jane Palmer in May of 1953. They settled in New Holland, PA where he drove a truck picking up milk from the farms. They had two sons, Ronald Ray and Jeffrey Lee, and one daughter, Barbara Elizabeth, who passed away the day after she was born. In 1972 they made the big move to Loveland, CO, where he hauled cement. They spent 22 years in Loveland. In 1993 Ray retired and they moved to Yellow Jacket, CO to be closer to their son Jeff and their grandchildren.
Ray spent his “retired” years helping Jeff in the shop, changing water in the fields around their house, wood working in his shop and walking miles and miles down the field roads. They took trips “back east” as often as they could to visit their family and friends that were in Pennsylvania. He loved anything train from seeing the massive engines in person to putting together puzzles and building his model train track.
Ray and Thelma, lovingly referred to as the “lovebirds” by a friend, shared 68 years of marriage. They have five grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Ray went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 27, 2022.
