Ray Merlin

RAY MERLIN Graveside services for former area resident Ray Merlin will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, December 12 at the Cortez Cemetery. A visitation is scheduled for Monday morning at the Ertel Chapel from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Ray was born on September 29, 1915 the son of Pete and Katie (Phifer) Zmerzlikar. He passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2005 at his home in Grand Junction at the age of 90. Ray was a hardworking miner who retired from Unical. Surviving Ray are his step-daughter and step-son; numerous nieces and nephews; and four sisters, and two brothers. Preceding him in death were his parents; and his wife, Ernestine Elizabeth (Godbehere) Merlin.
