RANDY RAY WINTER Memorial services for longtime Cortez resident, Randy Ray Winter will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 4 at the First Baptist Church. Chaplain Marvin Graves will be officiating. Randy was born on November 2, 1954 in Denver, Colo. the son of Wilbert and Jeanette (Graham) Winter. He passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2014 at his home in Cortez at the age of 59. On February 2, 1985 in Eaton, Colo. Randy married Peggy Lee Honaker. He worked as a career custodian, working for the First Baptist Church for 12 years. He also worked in the farming industry and as a mechanic. He enjoyed traveling, Harley Davidson motorcycles and camping. He took great pleasure in being in the outdoors and enjoying the scenery. Randy was known for having a keen connection to animals. He liked to take his time when doing things in life. Green grass was also very important to Randy, the greener the better. Surviving Randy are his mother, Jeanette Winter of Cortez; his wife, Peggy Lee Winter of Cortez; his two sons, Allan Winter and wife, Kassi of Cortez, and Justin Winter and wife, Amanda of Castle Rock, Colo.; five grandchildren, Deven, Ellisia, Ayden, Kyndal, and Braxton. Preceding Randy in death are his dad, Wilbert Winter; and his brother, Roger Winter.
