RANDALL GARTH DAVIES Graveside services for longtime Cortez resident Randall Garth Davies will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 4 at Cortez Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. A visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. Ertel Memorial Chapel. Garth was born June 16, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah the son of Marley and Leah (Houtz) Davies. He passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska at the age of 61. On March 17, 1994, Garth married Saundra Stockdale. Surviving Garth are his wife of 14 years, Saundra Davies of Cortez; his children, Julie Long of Cortez, Rachelle Chavarie and husband, Chris of Belgrade, Maine, Chris Neal and wife, Laura of Winter Haven, Fla., and Kelly Neal and wife, Tammy of Fort Collins, Colo.; and his mother, Leah Davies Einerson of Saint George, Utah. Garth also leaves behind his grandchildren, Caleb, Colton, and Colby Chavarie, Morgan and Chase Neal, Alisha Neal, Garth Scott, Andy Scott, and Ashley Long; his siblings, Marlene McGee of Bloomfield, N.M., Kenneth Davies and wife, Linda of Cortez, Melanie McConkie of Vernal, Utah, and Gerald Davies of Saint George, Utah; his brothers-in-law, Charles Stockdale and wife, Peggy of Sun City West, Ariz., and Jon Stockdale and wife, Dee of Cortez; and his sister-in-law, Cindy Dickson and husband, Clay of Cortez.
