Ralph Eldon Walters

RALPH ELDON WALTERS Ralph Eldon Walters was born on December 7, 1933 in Goodland, Kan. the son of Dale Eugene and Ivah Jo (Chandler) Walters. The lifelong Cortez resident passed away on Friday, March 20, 2009 at Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 75. An avid gun collector, Ralph was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed time spent 4-wheeling, hunting, fishing, and being outdoors. Ralph's grandchildren brought his life much happiness. Surviving Ralph are his children, Donald Dale Leroy Walters and wife, Diane of Farmington, N.M., David Eugene Walters and wife, Robin of Bloomfield, N.M., Sharon Lee Hauser of Colorado Springs, Colo., Sandra Beth "Tammy" Walters, and Shelly Martinez of Cortez; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Gene Walters and wife, Doris of Grand Junction, Colo., Carol Blankenship and husnband, Rod of Rand, W.V., Mona Lee Walters and husband, Darrell of California, and Ivah Jo Leal of Albuquerque, N.M. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Phylis Walters. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
