RALPH EDWARD ROBBINS Funeral services for lifelong Mancos resident, Ralph Edward Robbins will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 16 at the Cortez Elks Lodge. Interment will follow at the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Eddie was born on September 6, 1937 in Mancos the son of Vern Ira and Gertrude M. (Wilkerson) Robbins. He passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2005 at his home in Mancos at the age of 67. Eddie was a lifelong rancher and cattleman in the Mancos area. On April 14, 1956 in Mancos, he married Dixie Delora Dillon. Eddie and his bride worked their land for many years. He was a prominent man in his community who belonged to the Southwest Cattleman’s Association, CCA, Mancos Cattleman’s and was a former B.P.O.E. member. Eddie ran the stables and provided the horses at the Lake Mancos Dude Ranch for many years. He was also an outfitter on and off throughout his working career. Eddie was also known to appear in several movies when it called for livestock or wranglers. Surviving Eddie are his wife, Dixie Robbins; his daughters, Deana Kaye Yeomans and husband, Don, Robyn Lyn Robbins and husband, Dave Archibeque all of Mancos; his grandchildren, Karassa Horrocks and husband, John, Brianna Yeomans, Jori Lyn Yeomans, Kole Edward Yeomans, Autumn Lyn Robbins, and Shacee Lane Robbins. He leaves his siblings, Clyde Robbins of Arkansas, Verna Towne, Virgie Edwards both of Mancos, and Eileen Moore of Rio Rancho, N.M. Preceding him in death were his parents; his two sons, Richard Vern Robbins, and Wesley Lee Robbins; and his brothers and sister, Clarence Robbins, Roger Robbins, Delbert Robbins, Buster Miller, and Margaret Winters. Memorial contributions can be made in Eddie’s name at Citizens State Bank or give to a charity of your choice.
