Preston "Sam" Porter

PRESTON “SAM” PORTER Preston “Sam” Porter passed away in his Mancos home on Thursday, April 7. Born to O.O. and Lora Mae Porter at Brookaton, Texas on May 13, 1944, Sam was a rodeo rider, an accomplished welder and painter, and worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for CFI in Pueblo for many years. He leaves his wife, Loraleigh of the family home; daughters, Kiristina and (John) DeLuzio-Katona and son, Konner of Denver, daughter, La Shawna Null and children, Scott, Shawn, Savannah and Simon of Ordway; brothers Ron (Vicki) Porter of Cortez and Dwayne Porter. He will be missed by his stepchildren, Steven Peterson of Seattle, Ian (Holly) Kinkade and daughter, Mellodie of Lake Havasu, Alicia (Chris) Navage and daughter, Jordan, and Colin Kinkade all of Cortez. An informal memorial service was held at the American Legion. As Sam wished, no formal services were held.
