PHILLIP LEE KRAUS Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Phillip Lee Kraus will be held Monday, November 23 at 2 p.m. at Lifeway Baptist Church. Pastor Anthony Maes will officiate. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, November 22 from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Phil was born June 27, 1940 in Anthony, Kan. the son of Lewis Phillip and Margaret Castleman Kraus. He passed away on Wednesday, November 18 at his residence at the age of 75. Phil married Kitty Smith on May 30, 1964 in Chinle, Ariz. Phil is survived by his wife, Kitty of Cortez; his children, Mike Kraus (Teresa) of Cortez and Todd Kraus (Brandi) of Strafford, Mo.; his sister, Peggy Maltbie of Buckeye, Ariz.; and his grandchildren, Regan Kraus of Oklahoma City, Okla., Cullen Kraus of Alva, Okla., Erin Kraus of Cortez, Trevor Kraus of Strafford Mo., Owen Kraus of Cortez and Anthony Kraus of Strafford, Mo.; and extended family consisting of numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and five sisters.
