PHILIP GUY MORROW Memorial services for Cortez resident Philip Guy Morrow will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at the Montezuma Valley Presbyterian Church. A visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon from 2 to 4 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Philip was born on April 21, 1920 in Deer Trail, Colo. the son of Enos Guy and Lillian Clare (Ross) Morrow. He passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at Vista Mesa Assisted Living Facility at the age of 88. Philip grew up in Matheson, Colo. Following high school graduation in 1938, he went to Colorado School of Mines and graduated in 1942 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps from 1942-1945 during World War II. Philip married Ann Winstel in Port Arthur, Tex. in 1946. They lived in Port Arthur where he worked for the Texaco refinery. In 1950, Philip and Ann moved to Laurel, Mont. where he worked at the Farmers Union Central Exchange Refinery. He was recalled into the U.S. Air Force in 1951 to serve as a pilot in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska during the Korean Occupation. Following that service, they returned to Montana where he again worked for the FUCE Refinery. He worked in Laurel until 2000 when they moved to Billings, Mont. In 2003, Philip and Ann moved to Cortez to be closer to their daughter and family. Philip is survived by his daughter, Jackie Brumley and husband, Aryol of Cortez, and his son, Philip Guy Morrow II and wife, Katherine of Salt Lake City, Utah; five granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 60 years, Ann; and by his only brother, Jack. Memorial contributions may be made in Philip's name to Hospice of Montezuma, P.O.
