PEGGY ANN ROE Funeral services for lifelong area resident Peggy Ann Roe will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 25 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Pastor Jonathan Bland of New Hope Christian Ministries will officiate. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Peggy was born the daughter of Lee Curtis and Eva Elizabeth (Stevenson) Duncan on November 24, 1932 in Lewis, Colo. She passed away at Southwest Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, April 20, 2005. She was 72 years old. She married Darrell Cornelius Roe on July 25, 1953 in Aztec, N.M. To this union four children were born, Donna, Debbie, Becky and Grant. Darrell passed away on October 6, 1967. Peggy worked 25 years for Southwest Memorial Hospital as a data processor. In her free time she loved to garden and tend her African Violets. She bowled on a league for many years and loved playing cards. She was quite talented with her hands making numerous quilts and afghans. Her two cats Samantha and Molly were dear friends to Peggy. Surviving Peggy are her children, Donna Dennison of Cortez, Debbie Roe of Cortez, Becky Williams and husband, Randy of Durango, and Grant Roe and wife, Julie of Cortez; seven grandchildren, Shane and Shawn Dennison, Isaac, Angie, and Jessica Roe, and Amanda and Kyle Williams; and eight great grandchildren. One brother, Bill Duncan of Lewis; two sisters, Daisy King and husband, Bill of Cortez, and Pat Ashbaugh and husband, Lloyd of Grants, N.M.; two sisters-in-law, Vada Small and Lois Rutledge and husband, Bill all of Cortez; and two brothers-in-law, Sid Powell of Cortez and Darwin Roe of Fort Collins, Colo. also survive Peggy. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Darrell; brothers, Thomas H. Gilliland, Richard Duncan, and John Duncan; and sisters, June Alice and Jeanne Reed.
