Pearlie Belle Bishop

July 31, 1922 — August 12, 2005

PEARLIE BELLE BISHOP Pearlie Belle Bishop was born to Lonnie and Rosie (Gilliland) Aulston July 31, 1922, in Addington, Okla. She died Friday, August 12, 2005 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 83. At the age of eight, Pearl moved with her family to Yellow Jacket where she spent her childhood years. On May 19, 1941, Pearl married Bob Bishop in Aztec, N.M. They spent the first two years of their married life in Baltimore, M.D. and Denver. Big city life didn't agree with the young farm couple so they returned to a farm east of Arriola. Pearl was still living on this farm at the time of her death. Pearl and Bob worked side by side raising their family on the farm and she always helped with the field work and milking the cows. She always raised a big garden and canned her own vegetables. Making jelly was her specialty and apricot was a favorite with her grandchildren. She took great pride in doing things for other people. Pearl became a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in 1993, where she made many friends and took part in many church functions. One of her greatest pleasures was helping make quilts for the needy. She was extremely independent and was so proud that she could still drive and care for herself right up until her death. Pearl is survived by two sons, Dan and wife Judy of Arriola, and Mike and wife Diane of Littleton, Colo.; two daughters, Billie Shull and husband, Chuck of Los Alamos, N.M., and Sandy Williams and husband, Bill of Cortez; two brothers, Russell Aulston and wife Lolita of Yellow Jacket, and Johnnie Aulston and wife Becky of Roslesia, Wash.; six sisters, Sarah Priddy and husband Howard of Yakima, Wash., Dessie Jaskewicz and husband Lenny of Canterbury, N.J., Della Richardson and husband Bill of Tempe, Ariz., Dorothy Jones of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Doris Vaughn and husband Huey of Enid, Okla., one sister-in-law Nelta Wilson of Aurora, Colo.; ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her husband, Bob; son Dave; grandson, Rodney Bishop; brother Ray Aulston; sisters Marie Maduex and Arlene Struble, and her parents.
