PAULINE RUTH "PAULA" DONALDSON Funeral services for Cortez resident Pauline Ruth "Paula" Donaldson will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 21 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Summit Ridge Cemetery. Pastor Anthony Maes will officiate. A visitation has been scheduled for Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ertel Chapel. Paula was born on June 9, 1928 in Little Rock, Ark. the daughter of Paul and Eloise (Baldwin) Bivens. She passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Vista Mesa Assisted Living Center at the age of 80. Paula, better known by her friends and family as "Hollywood," was married to Marion McGechie for 18 years. She then spent 39 years married to Johnny Donaldson. Paula was a member of Easter Star and she enjoyed playing Bridge, riding horses, camping, hunting, bird watching, gardening and playing the piano. Paula made wonderful rolls and spending time with family brought Paula much joy. Surviving Paula are her children, Colleen McGechie and Gene Noland of Cortez, and Michael McGechie of Cortez; and her step-children, Johnny Donaldson Jr. and wife, Connie, Debbie Klein and Rich Pearson, and Jimmy Donaldson and wife, Loretta, all of Tse Bonito, N.M. Paula also leaves behind her grandchildren, Troy and Jen Maxon of Durango, Dustin Theobald of Cortez, Shane Donaldson of Tse Bonito, N.M., Shawn Donaldson of Farmington, N.M., Josh Donaldson of Prescott, Ariz., Brandy and Anthony Sanchez of Tse Bonito, N.M., Terry Klein of Monument, Colo., Gary Donaldson, and Tracy Horsley and wife, Pat all of Farmington, N.M., Joey Donaldson and Sheldon Donaldson of Tse Bonito, N.M.; 15 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Ron Stewart and wife, Margaret of Katy, Tex. Paula was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Johnny Donaldson; and her grandparents, Bill and Margaret Exon. Memorial contributions may be made in Paula's name to Hospice of Montezuma, P.O. Box 740, Cortez, Colo. 81321.
