PAUL LEE BAKER Memorial services for lifelong Mancos resident Paul Lee Baker will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 3 at the Mancos Community Center. Pastor LeRoy Cowrat of Oregon will be officiating. Paul was born on May 23, 1978 in Durango the son of Douglas L. and Debbie S. (Dean) Baker. He passed away on Friday, November 26, 2004 at his home in Mancos at the age of 26. After graduating from Mancos High School in 1996, Paul spent his career working for San Juan Copy Systems. Paul was an avid sportsman who never missed a sporting event on TV. If there were sports on, Paul was watching. He loved his Denver Broncos. Paul excelled in Basketball and enjoyed playing other sports too. This last summer he loved nothing more than jeeping in the mountains. He also enjoyed hunting. Surviving Paul are his parents, Doug and Debbie Baker of Mancos; his brothers, Gary Baker and Bill Baker both of Phoenix, Ariz.; his grandparents, Paul and Jeanette Dean of Crawford, Colo.; and his two great-grandmothers, Easter Baker of Cortez, and Mae Dean of Crawford, Colo. He leaves his best friends, Shane Spore and wife, Amber of Dolores, and Matt Cowart of Grand Junction. Memorial contributions can be made in Paul’s name to the Paul Baker Cancer fund at Mancos State Bank. Funds will go to benefit uninsured and less fortunate families with cancer.
