PAUL BRYAN CHAPPELL Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident, Paul Bryan Chappell will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 1 at the Lighthouse Baptist Church. Pastor Larry Chappell will be officiating. Private Interment services will be held at a later time. Paul was born on September 11, 1915 in Lebanon, Colo. the son of Percy M. and Ethel Euphema (Carmean) Chappell. He passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2005 at his residence in Cortez at the age of 90. On January 10, 1936 in Monticello, Utah Paul married Edith Louise Ince. Paul was a farmer and Baptist Pastor who dedicated 40 years of his life as a church member. Family and Church were the most important things in Paul’s life. Surviving Paul are his wife, Edith Chappell of Cortez; his children, Arlene Ekleberry and husband, Lyle of Phoenix, Ariz., Paula Venters and husband, Darren of Green Valley, Ariz., Larry A. Chappell and wife, Maxine, and Steve D. Chappell and wife, Teri all of Cortez. He leaves 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; and his sisters, Margaret Diffendafer and Gladys Hauser and husband, Larry all of Cortez. Preceding him in death were his parents; and his brother-in-law, Harold Diffendafer. Memorial contributions can be made in Paul’s name to the Lighthouse Baptist Church.
