LACY L. "PAT" GARNER Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident Lacy L. "Pat" Garner will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 5 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Pat was born on September 7, 1926 in Roswell, N.M. the son of Lacy S. and Etna (Hamilton) Garner. He passed away on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at his residence at the age of 83. Pat's passion in life was truck driving. He owned and operated his own trucks that were leased to High Country Transportation for many years. In his free time, Pat loved antiquing. Surviving Pat are his wife, Vondell Garner of Cortez; his children, Steve Garner and wife, Jessica of Price, Utah, Patty Lackey and husband, Roy of Cortez, Verl Garner and wife, Bridgette of La Plata, N.M., Terry Lynn and wife, Becky of Cortez, and Karen Garner-Cordova and husband, Gerald of Las Lunas, N.M.; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters; three brothers-in-law; and three sisters-in-law. Pat was preceded in death by his parents; by his wife, Mary Lou Garner in 1995; and by his son, Gary Garner.
