ORVILLE LEROY LEWIS Graveside services for Orville Leroy Lewis will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 25 at Cahone Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Sunday evening from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Orville was born on October 2, 1934 in Cushing Okla. to Prentis Leroy and Christina (Young) Lewis. He passed away on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at his home in Farmington, N.M. at the age of 79. On August 18, 1955 Orville married Arveta Jean Todd in Dove Creek. On Monday, August 18, 2014 Orville and Arveta celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. With this union four children were born, Steve, Nick, Cary and LaNaye. He will always be remembered as a hardworking and productive man. Orville spent 23 years working for Farmers Telecommunications in Pleasant View. He also farmed for many years. Hunting was a favorite of Orville's. Surviving Orville are his wife; Arveta Jean (Todd) Lewis of Farmington, N.M.; his sons, Steve Lewis and wife, Gina of Tulsa, Okla., Nick Lewis and wife, Ginger of Farmington, N.M.; seven grandchildren, Connie Lewis of Dallas, Tex., Candice Paumen and husband, Justin of Grand Junction, Colo., Cassandra Olgren and husband, Kyle of Monument, Colo., Lesli Dinsmore and husband, Cody of Tulsa, Okla., Annie Tunnell and husband, Cole of Oklahoma City, Okla., Heidi Staebell and husband, Ryan of Tulsa, Okla., and Beth Davis and husband, Rick of Statesville, N.C.; seven great grandchildren; and two uncles, LaVerl "Leo" Lewis and wife, Bobbie of Arriola, Colo., and Frank Lewis and wife, Bobbie of Colorado Springs, Colo. Preceding him in death were his parents, Prentis Leroy and Christina (Young) Lewis; his son, Cary Lewis; his daughter, LaNaye Lewis; and his sister, LaVerne Weaver. Memorial contributions can be made in Orville Leroy Lewis' name to the Alzheimers Association at www.alz.org.
