Orlan Darce 'Bud' Wilson

A memorial service and inurnment will be held for Cortez resident Orlan Darce ‘Bud’ Wilson at 10 a.m. Friday June 19, 2020 at Cortez Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed by the Veterans of Montezuma County.
Bud was born January 18, 1925 in Park City, UT the son of Williamson Darce and Wilda Elayne (Pierson) Wilson. He passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at Vista Grande Inn in Cortez, CO at the age of 95.
Bud served in WW II with the the US Coast Guard in the Aleutian Islands, and South Pacific. He met and married Irene Renfro. He served with the Marine Corps in Korea and then in Vietnam. After retiring from the Military he joined the US Forest Service. In retirement he and his wife Irene spent time as campground hosts for USFS and BLM. He loved exploring the southwest desert in their motor home; camping, boating, jeeping. He made some wonderful friends allover the United States. Bud and Irene were married 75 years. Bud was always ready to help family and friends and will be much missed.
Surviving Bud are his loving wife, Irene Wilson of Cortez, CO; his children, Linda Murry of Mancos, CO, Jean Horrocks of Cortez, CO, and LaVonne Lambert of Cortez, CO; his brother, Gary W. Wilson (Kathy) of Lakeside, OR; his grandchildren, Anna Munn or Boring, OR, Jim Murray of Boring, OR, Trevor Horrocks (Candice) of Mesa, AZ, Lori Boren of Netarts, OR, TJ Lambert (Catherine) of Troutdale, OR, and Dustin Lambert of Cortez, CO; and 12 great grandchildren. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Casey Ostergren and her husband Jack.
