Ophelia Rivera

Funeral services for Mancos resident Ophelia Rivera will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018 at St. Rita Catholic Church in Mancos. Reverend Patrick Valdez, C.R. will officiate. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Mancos. A rosary will be held at the church at 6 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2018.
Ophelia was born February 3, 1923 in Ensenada, New Mexico the daughter of Lucas and Rosa (Fernandez) Martinez. She married Moises Rivera April 1, 1957. Ophelia passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the Valley Inn Nursing Home at the age of 95.
Surviving Ophelia are her children, Mary Lettig (Phil) of Salt Lake, UT, Dolores Martinez of Mancos, CO, Nic Rivera (Wesley Ann) of Mancos, CO, Nancy Odell (Bruce) of Mancos, CO, Jason Rivera of Fruita, CO, Sergio Rivera of Canyon City, CO, Edwin Rivera of Phoenix, AZ, Stephanie Spurlock; her siblings, Jake Martinez, Helen Martinez, Phil Martinez, Climaco Martinez, Chon Madera, Mae Ervin, Evangline Trujillo; 11 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; and one great great great grandchild. Ophelia was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse, Moises Rivera; her son, Isaac Martinez; her siblings, Lydia Martinez, Bernice Barmore, Regina Ulabarry, and Esther Castenada.
