Odis Ireland "Bud" Northcott

ODIS IRELAND “BUD” NORTHCOTT Funeral services former longtime Cortez resident, Odis Ireland “Bud” Northcott will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Bud was born on September 30, 1939 in Lamesa, Tex. the son of Odis Martin and Martha Jo (Taylor) Northcott. He passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2004 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. at the age of 65. A Montezuma Cortez High School graduate, Bud later married Dixie Lee Yeomans of Mancos, on August 1, 1957 in Albuquerque, N.M. With this union three children were born. Bud has been a part-time rancher for the last 22 years on his Arizona strip. Prior to that, he spent his career as the President and Owner of Northcott Inc. Bud was also a former member of the Cortez Elks. Surviving Bud are his wife, Dixie Northcott of Dewey, Ariz.; his mother, Martha Northcott of Cortez; his children, Korina Payne and husband, Tim of Prescott Valley, Ariz., Richard Odis Northcott and wife, Leslie of Bethel, Me.; his three grandchildren, Kourtney, Kameron and Matthew Payne; his sister, Cookie Pickens and husband, Larry of Cortez; as well as numerous, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Preceding Bud in death were his father, Odis Northcott; and his daughter, Rachelle Northcott. Services for former longtime Cortez resident, Odis Ireland “Bud” Northcott are pending with the Ertel Funeral Home. Bud was born on September 30, 1939 in Lamesa, Tex. the son of Odis Martin and Martha Jo (Taylor) Northcott.
