NORMA JEAN JENKINS Norma Jean Jenkins was born on May 27, 1931 in Lewis, Colo., the daughter of James Theodore and Ethel Grace (McDonald) Westfall. She passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at her residence at the age of 76. On January 21, 1955, Norma married Charles Leroy Jenkins in Aztec, N.M. Norma put learning first. She felt it was very important to be educated and she passed that philosophy onto her grandchildren while teaching them at home. Norma was a wonderful mother who was very unselfish. She always put others first. Norma had a great work ethic, she was a hardworking woman who always made time for her family. She loved activities that brought her closer to her loved ones. Surviving Norma are her husband, Charles Jenkins of Dolores; and her children, Mike Jenkins of Lewis, Brenda Uresk and husband, Larry of Myton, Utah, Sandy Nowak and husband, Patrick of Cortez, Shanna Jenkins of Cañon City, Colo., Patty Daulton and husband, Jim of LaSalle, Colo., Toni Meza and husband, Ed of Casa Grande, Ariz., and Sterling Jenkins of Colorado Springs, Colo. She also leaves behind her brother, Milton Westfall of Eagle Point, Ore.; and 11 grandchildren. Norma was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sharon Denise Hemmingway; and her siblings, Kemper Westfall, Lenore Griffith, and Betty Williams. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made in Norma’s name to Hospice of Montezuma, P.O. Box 740 Cortez, Colo. 81321.
