Nina Kay Larsen was born on August 21, 1949 to V.T. and Elizabeth Boyd in Amity, Arkansas. She passed away on June 28, 2024 in her home after an almost three-year battle with cancer.
Nina was the first of four generations of Boyd family members to graduate from Dolores High School in 1967, after her family moved to Dolores in 1961. She went to work for her family’s businesses right out of high school. For nearly 50 years she worked every aspect of the businesses from retail at The Fashion House with her mother, bookkeeping and managing Escalante Lumber, which later became Choice Building Supply, Colorado Forest Products, to bartending at the Sawmill Run Restaurant and Saloon.
Nina has two children, Kim Archuleta and Danny Cline and 12 grandchildren. Nina married Robert Larsen in April of 1993. They retired in the fall of 2021 with plans of traveling with their camp trailer. Her favorite places were anywhere with a river, lake, or beach. The only thing that made them better was a fishing pole and a cold beverage.
Nina Larsen is survived by her husband, Bob Larsen; her daughter, Kim (Alex) Archuleta; son, Danny (Stacy) Cline; step-daughters, Kim (Seth) Miller, and Gatlin (Catie) Ross; her siblings, Thurl (Connie) Boyd, Kevin (Tina) Boyd, and Tammy (Bryan) Black; grandchildren, Madison and Codi Archuleta, Kiana, Brady, and Kally Cline, Amalia and Layla Miller, and Lillie, Johnnie, Wyatt, Virgil and Luna Ross.
Nina is preceded in death by her parents, V.T. and Elizabeth Boyd; and step-son, Robert Larsen, Jr.
There will be no services, her wish was to spread her cremated remains in our beautiful Colorado Mountains.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Pasco SW Hospice Moving Mountains Foundation.
