Nick C. Padilla

NICK CHRISTOPHER PADILLA Nick Christopher Padilla entered eternal life on Thursday September 19, 2013. Nick was Born August 16, 1944, in Bronx, NY. When Nick was age 9 he was put into a strict Catholic orphanage after his father died. Nick left the Orphanage at age 16 to make his own way in life, he worked in Italian delis as a young man and learned to cook. Nick met his wife Jessica Pilegard in 1964 and had 4 children together. In 1997 Nick moved to Cortez to live out the rest of his years. Nick had a very Cynical sense of humor which was very entertaining to friends and family, he was at his happiest when he was cooking at home or gambling at the casino. Nick had a hard time showing affection due to the hard life he lived but he always made family feel loved through the food he cooked, he went out of his way for people quite often. Later in life Nick worked as a Funeral Director for many years in southern California and briefly in Cortez before his health started to fade, he enjoyed that profession the most. Nick and his food will be greatly missed, Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners will definitely feel empty without him. Surviving Nick are his wife of 47 years Jessica Padilla of Cortez; children, David Joeseph Padilla and Partner Sharles Harrison of Farmington NM; Nicholas C. Padilla and Partner Janet Elia of Cortez; Desiree Ann Burnham and Husband Jeff Burnham of Cortez; Neil F. Padilla and Wife Dorothena Padilla of Cortez; Sister, Gladys Padilla of NY; numerous grandchildren that Nick enjoyed.
