NELDA LINDSAY Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident Nelda Lindsay will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. Nelda was born on January 31, 1929 in Cortez, the daughter of George Augustus and Rhoda Mary (Gawith) Meistrell. She passed away on Thursday, November 9, 2006 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colo. at the age of 77. Nelda married Richard M. Lindsay in Lakeview, Colo. The two celebrated 58 loving years together. Surviving Nelda are her husband, Richard Lindsay of Cortez; her sons, Kent Lindsay and wife, Sharon and Grant Lindsay and wife Tammy, all of Cortez; her grandchildren, Levi Lindsay of Salt Lake City, Utah, Cole Lindsay and wife, Stefanie of San Diego, Calif., Will Lindsay of Colorado Springs, Colo., Matthew Lindsay and Justin Lindsay, both of Cortez; and her sister, Leona McCabe and husband Stan of Cortez. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sisters, Thelma McCabe, Verda Ping, and Shirley Gawith.
