Neal Washington Pendley

NEAL WASHINGTON PENDLEY Visitation for lifelong Cortez resident Neal Washington Pendley will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30 at Ertel Memorial Chapel. Private interment will take place at the Cortez Cemetery. Neal was born on August 2, 1910 in Robie, Tex. the son of Seth and Ruth Agnes (Simmons) Pendley. He passed away on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Vista Grande Inn at the age of 97. On December 14, 1937, Neal married Myrtle Mae Tackett in Aztec, N.M. Neal was a family man who enjoyed farming and fishing. He was deeply loved and will be missed by many. Surviving Neal are his wife, Myrtle Pendley of Cortez; his son, Jeff Pendley of Mesquite, Nev.; his granddaughter, Debbie Durbin and husband, John of Cortez; and his great-grandchildren, Briggs and Bryce Durbin. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Marie Pendley; his daughter-in-law, Andrea Pendley; and his siblings, Mona Leavell, Dollie Cozad, and Jesse Pendley. Memorial contributions may be made in Neal's memory to the American Heart Association.
