Nadine D. Lair

NADINE D. LAIR Funeral services for longtime Cortez resident, Nadine D. Lair will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21 at the Ertel Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at the Cortez Cemetery. A visitation has been scheduled for Monday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Ertel Chapel. The daughter of James and Dora Hattie (Brashier) Abshier, Nadine was born on December 6, 1919 in Fort Cobb, Okla. She passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at her home at the age of 86. On July 24, 1939, Nadine married Elvin “Hoot” Lair in Minco, Okla. Nadine was blessed with the gift of being a wonderful cook. She enjoyed time spent reading and fishing. Surviving Nadine are her husband, Elvin “Hoot” Lair of Cortez; her daughters, Patsy Cone and husband, Trent of Buckeye, AZ, and Ruth Berry and husband, Richard of Cortez. She also leaves behind 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Larry Leon Lair. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice in Nadine’s memory.
