Montgomery Ray Coyote

MONTGOMERY RAY "MONTY" COYOTE Funeral services for lifelong Cortez resident, Montgomery Ray "Monty" Coyote will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 26 at the Evangel Assembly of God Church. Pastor Anthony Maes will be officiating. Interment will follow at Cortez Cemetery. Monty was born on February 21, 1957 in Cortez to McDougal Coyote Sr. and Betty Ann Dinae. He passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at his home in Cortez at the age of 57. A Cortez native, Monty attended Downey Elementary School and Cortez Junior High. While in school, Monty would bring stray cats home to his mother and she kindly would let him keep them. After graduating from high school he went on to attend Sipi Institute in Albuquerque, N.M. and then on to Culinary Arts school in Denver, Colo. He grew into a very talented chef and bead worker. Monty was very intelligent, and when you were his friend, you were a friend for life. He had the ability to touch many lives; once you met him he was hard to forget. Monty loved his family very much and they will miss his smile and laughter. He leaves behind his siblings, Jolanda Jacket and husband, Scott, Marvin Coyote, and Jonathan Dinae and Rhonda, all of Cortez; his aunt, Vera Coyote; uncle, Ira Cuthair; numerous nieces and nephews, Conrad, Scottie, Scott D., and Tyrell Jacket, Eric, Mike and Teresa Coyote, and Jeffery, Josh, Jowan, and Jalen Dinae, Isaac Coyote, Saith Coyote, and Marilynn House; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents; and four siblings, Michael D. Coyote, Marilyn S. Coyote, Mark A. Coyote, and McDougal Coyote, Jr.
