Mona "Faye" Culp

February 5, 1921 — January 18, 2017

MONA "FAYE" CULP Faye Culp was born on February 5, 1921 in Bayfield, Colorado to Charles and Fannie Yingling. She passed from this world at the Valley Inn in Mancos on January 18, 2017 at the age of 95. Preceding her in death were her husband of 75 years, Russel Culp; and four brothers, three sisters and two grandsons. Faye has two children, a daughter, Belva Heath and husband, Shirlen, of Mancos; and a son, Howard Culp and wife, Zadra also of Mancos, which will miss her warm and gracious manner. Faye and Russel were blessed with seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Faye was a member of the Eastern Star and received a fifty-year pin and was a thirty-four year member of PEO. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing cards, and spent many years rock hunting. She was a marvelous cook and a meticulous housekeeper. The Southwest always was a passion of Faye. She enjoyed reading books on Indians, Ghost Towns, Boom Towns, Mining and any other locally published books of the area. She also loved poetry and had written several poems.
