Mildred Beck

MILDRED BECK Mildred Beck was born in Cortez on December 7, 1914 to Philip Runck and Annie Elizabeth (Marsh) Runck. She passed away on August 18, 2011 at the age of 96. Mildred married Nevel Beck on September 17, 1945 in Aztec, N.M. They shared 38 years of marriage before his death in 1983. She was a member of Extension Home Makers for several years. She also enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center. Surviving Mildred are her children, Russell Beck and wife, Michelle of Vancouver, Wash., and Myrna Cortner and husband, Dave of Upper Lake, Calif.; her siblings Roger Runck of Rifle, Colo., and Ruth Smoot of Cortez; her nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Nevel; two sons; and her brother, William Runck. At Mildred's request, cremation has taken place. She will be interred next to her husband at Cortez Cemetery at a later date.
