MIKKI RENEE TAVEIRA Funeral services for longtime Dolores resident, Mikki Renee Taveira will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 9 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Interment will follow at the Arriola Cemetery. Pastor Matt Segebartt will be officiating. Mikki was born on June 19, 1983 in Tuba City, Ariz. the daughter of John and Vanette (VanKeuren) Taveira. She passed away in Farmington, N.M. at the age of 22. Mikki was an active woman, involved in many things. She was a San Juan Bible Camp Counselor and a good student who enjoyed studying. Mikki always enjoyed working on the farm and liked hunting and fishing. Hiking was another passion of Mikki’s. She even belonged to a hiking club. She also loved playing the piano. Surviving Mikki are her mother, Vanette Taveira of Dolores; her father, John Taveira of Springsville, Ariz.; her grandparents, Rex and Bette Brown of Cortez; her siblings, Anthony Taveira, Erin Taveira Glenn and husband, William all of Cortez, Amie Taveira of Dolores, Christ C. Taveira and his family of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Melissa Rodgers of Page, Ariz. She leaves her aunts and uncles, Valerie Rodgers of Page, Ariz., Judy and Danny VanKeuren and family of Cortez, Craig Hinman and family, Wilson and Helen Frances and family of Page, Ariz.; and her cousins, Nicholas and Buddy Rodgers of Page, Ariz., and Charlotte, William Justin and Elizabeth Mackelprang. Memorial contributions can be made in Mikki’s name at Citizens State Bank.
