MICHAEL JOSEPH "MICKEY" GONZALES Memorial services for Cortez resident Michael Joseph "Mickey" Gonzales will take place at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 22 at the Cortez Elks Lodge, 2100 Dolores Road. Mickey was born on January 25, 1955 in Pueblo, Colo. the son of Frank and Ruby (Vigil) Gonzales. He passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the age of 54. On October 7, 2005, Mickey married Julie (Skinner) Donnelly at the Conquistador Golf Course in Cortez. An avid golfer, Mickey was a member of the Cortez Men's Golf Association. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge and the NRA. Mickey enjoyed time spent hunting and fishing as well. Surviving Mickey are his wife, Julie Gonzales of Cortez; his mother, Ruby Gonzales of Dolores; and his sons, Joseph Michael Rytting and Shane Ross Rytting. Mickey also leaves behind his step-children, Christopher Donnelly, Tina Kibel, and Melissa Yoakum; his siblings, Frankie Gonzales and wife, Debbie, and Lisa Tozer and husband, Bruce; four grandchildren; a large extended family and a host of friends.
