Michael Dale Waggaman

Michael (Mike) Dale Waggaman, 69, passed suddenly on December 30th, 2015. Mike was born in Portland, IN on February 23, 1946 to Leon Waggaman and Frances (Waggaman) Lautzenhiser. He graduated in 1964 from Marion High School in Marion, IN, was in the United States Naval Reserves, and then graduated in 1971 from the University of Georgia in Athens, GA, where he made his home until moving to Gainesville, GA. He was still a devoted Bulldog fan! He is preceded in death by his father, Leon Waggaman. Michael is survived by his mother Frances Lautzenhiser, Sanford, FL , sisters Mary Jo Townsend, Sanford, FL and Julie Flynn, DeBary, FL, his daughter, Olivia Waggaman, grandson Alton Hindmarch, stepson Patrick Webb and his ex-wife Tracy Waggaman all of Durango, CO, nieces Tracy Christopher, Deltona, FL and Maureen Townsend of Sanford, FL. Michael was a Mason with the Mount Vernon Lodge No.22 F. & A.M. in Athens, GA. He belonged to the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Colorado Society of Certified Public Accounts. He practiced in his firm Michael D. Waggaman , CPA, PC, over 40 years. Mike moved his family from Gainesville, GA to Durango, CO in 1996 then moved to Mancos, CO in 2006 where he settled and loved his mountain life. He was an avid and devoted animal lover, enjoyed hunting, fishing, skiing, boating and football. His family recalls his many random acts of kindness, including helping single mothers by filing their taxes at no charge and rescuing animals. There will not be a memorial or funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to either; For Pets' Sake Humane Society, P.O.
