Melba Joy Johnson

MELBA JOY JOHNSON Melba Joy Johnson was born on January 14, 1922 in Girard, Tex. the daughter of Carl B. and Annie S. (Walden) Sprinkles. She passed away on Monday, June 2, 2008 at the Southwest Memorial Hospital at the age of 86. On July 17, 1946, Melba married Wayne H. Johnson in Tucson, Ariz. Melba had a long career as a Registered Nurse. She worked in the medical profession from 1948 to 1994. Melba enjoyed sightseeing, music and she was an avid reader. Melba loved her cat Podunk dearly. Surviving Melba are her daughter, Chris Miles and husband, Josh of Dolores; her siblings, Dorothy Kincaid of Mesa, Ariz., and Fred Sprinkles of Coolidge, Ariz.; her nieces, Beverly Rakowski of Mesa, Ariz., and Kathy Moore of Frankfurt, Ken.; her nephew, Steven Johnson of Mount Vernon, Ind.; her special friends, Nancy Marion, Cherry Hinote, Valley Jean Williford, Karen Chappel, Mary Anne; and many other family and friends. Melba was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Wayne Johnson on October 11, 1960. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned at this time.
