MAX RAYMOND CULLUM Graveside inurnment services for lifelong Cortez resident, Max Raymond Cullum will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 22 at the Cortez Cemetery. Pastor Rick Gregory will be officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Ute Mountain American Legion Post #75. Max was born on March 3, 1931 in Newcastle, Wyo. the son of Marshal Ray and Hazel Arlie (Morse) Cullum. He passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014 at his home in Cortez at the age of 83. In Vernal, Utah on April 21, 1956 Max married Shirley Rose Anselmi. He loved his career as a lifelong oil driller. During his off time he enjoyed taking drives in the mountains and fishing. Max also loved the Denver Broncos. Surviving Max is his wife, Shirley Cullum of Cortez; his children, Diane Caster and husband, Warren of Monte Vista, Colo., Mike Cullum and wife, Terri of Neenah, Wis., Todd Cullum and wife, Twila of Keenesburg, Colo., Clay Cullum and wife, Kathy of Cortez, and Lisa Price and husband, Brian of Painesville, Ohio; two sisters, Lorraine McBee and husband, Walt of South Carolina, Leone Nelson and husband, Jerry of Sioux Falls, S.D.; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Marshal Ray and Hazel Arlie (Morse) Cullum.
